Why I Speak

Since my early twenties I've had an intense passion for God's Word. I was attending a church filled with Biblical scholars whose love for Christ created within me a deep desire to learn what they knew and so I did what they did—I studied the scriptures. They read amazing books—so I followed their example of spending hours every day in the works of Charles Spurgeon, Francis Schaffer, J. I. Packer (etc). I dove into commentaries by Matthew Henry, Adam Clarke, and Jamieson, Fausset & Brown, searched for understanding through Stong's Exhaustive Concordance (which was quite exhausting - but oh so helpful). Over the years I've read through a long list of varying versions of the Bible including the ASV, NIV, ESV, NLT, KJV, The Chronological Bible, & The Archaeological Study Bible. I love God's Word! It's alive and powerful and it teaches me daily how see the world around me from a Biblical perspective so I can live in a way that makes my Abba Father's heart happy. "I believe therefore I speak."

What you say  flows  from what is in your heart.  Luke 6:45

A Gathering For Widows & Widowers

With Sandy Snavely

Because when the love of your life is gone you need to be with people who get you. So let's plan a gathering for the widows and widowers in your church, and even in your community, with messages of hope that flow depths of God's heart into depths of our souls where grief feels too heavy to bear.

"You don’t have to be alone in your hurt! Comfort is yours. Joy is an option. And it’s all been made possible by your Saviour. He went without comfort so you might have it. He postponed joy so you might share in it. He willingly chose isolation so you might never be alone in your hurt and sorrow."

This 4 hour program plan includes:

  • 2 Keynote messages - designed to bring comfort and encouragement from a Biblical perspective

From The Dark of Night - Sandy Snavely

The rains came down covering the earth with pounding water. Then the sounds of death. They were all drowning. Except Noah, his family and an ark full of chirping,  barking and bleating. The world had become and ocean. Hope mingled with fear as Noah cried into the winds of the storm; "Oh God will I ever walk on solid ground again?"  Grief feels like that in the dark of night.

To The New Day Dawning - Sandy Snavely

Then one night the dove returned to the ark carrying a torn olive leaf in its beak and hope became a promise fulfilled. At last the waters sank back into the ground and Noah stepped out of the ark and planted his feet on dry land while the sun smiled down on him. Restoration feels like that when morning begins to dawn.

  • 2 Sessions of  "Selah Time" - designed to provide your guests with appropriate questions that will help them reflect, comfort, and encourage each other with what they've gained from our time together.

  • And as with all great events - an inviting food and drink table provided by the host church.
